We will try Kickstarter a second time
It’s already been a month and a half since we ended the last Kickstarter campaign. While we did not reach our funding goal, we’ve had a lot of positive results. We reached out to many new players interested in the game, we made good contacts with the press and some youtubers, we gathered a lot of feedback from our audience, we got to try our game with players from around the world for the first time, etc.
We think that we are better prepared today than we were when we started the last kickstarter and that we have a real chance of achieving our goal this second time. We’d have better timing, better contacts and a larger fanbase to “kickstart our kickstarter”. Besides, soon Kickstarter will be available in Canada, which means that we won’t have to jump through hoops just to get our project hosted there, making it a less expensive and complicated process this time around.
I can’t give a solid date for when we’ll do relaunch our kickstarter campaign, but we’ll try to get it there ASAP. Right after that, we’ll start alpha funding the game, so our backers won’t have to wait to start playing the game they pre-ordered.
Now, I would like it if you could comment and give us pointers of things you’d like to see done differently. The one thing that isn’t likely to change though is physical rewards. If we were to offer physical rewards, we’d need a higher funding goal and we don’t think it’s the best option for us. Managing these physical trinkets would also take a lot of time away from development, and we’d rather be focusing our time and energy on making the best game we can.
