GoD Factory: Wingmen

GoD Factory: Wingmen is the second title by Nine Dots Studio. It’s a squad based competitive space combat sim in which the goal is to destroy the enemy’s carrier ship while protecting your own. The game features a very extensive ship customization system, in which ships are built component by component by selecting different hulls, cockpits, wings, power cores, shield generators, special ability devices, weapons, thrusters, etc. These parts affect both the look at capacities of your craft, allowing the player to craft a ship that fits the role he wants to play in a fight. There will be four playable species at launch, each having their own unique ship parts and abilities.

Players get to build their ships by spending points they earned by playing matches, building their ship so that they get incrementally better as they play. While in matches, the player brings two different ships to the fight and can alternate between them during a match, allowing for more versatility. These ships can also be switched with other players while in-game, should they accept to share with them.

In order to destroy a carrier, which happens to be a 13 kilometers long structure, the players have to cooperate to take out its vulnerable points. Every vulnerable area has a different negative effect when destroyed. For instance, destroying the ammo depot will reduce the amount of ammo restocked when docking, while destroying the Comm tower will cut out most alerts the players would receive when their carrier’s weak points are about to be destroyed. The carriers themselves also have their own artillery which shoots every once in a while, ensuring that the game can’t stall for long. The average length of a match is between 12 and 16 minutes, and it is impossible for a match to go over 30 minutes.

Hey man! I’m nico: I had dinner with you at pax east and we talked about the gamign industry and that type of stuff. Just wanted to say that i can’t wait until this game comes out, it looks awesome. When id the planned release date?

    • Hi Nico! We don’t know for the release date yet, but stay tuned for an eventual crowdfunding campaign in which you could buy in your access to the closed beta ;-) We’d like to have such a beta ready before the end of August if possible, but no promise!

      • I just discovered your studio through the PA Report article. I am so disappointed I didn’t come across you at PAX East. I have been looking for a great space combat sim for a while. I am really looking forward to your release and supporting your crowd funding effort!

This game reminds me an awful lot of Flying Heroes. Just look at the movement, the aiming, the weapon behaviour, the third person cam that is in almost fixed position and the Arena based maps.
That one was more like a fantasy themed air battle with Dragons, carpets, airships (all different behaviour) arcade arena with Unreal-like weapons back in the day of Win XP. The first video I saw about GOD Factory was on teksyndicate. So I wish you good luck and I am definitely going to watch that crowdfunding. I loved Flying Heroes and I would like that gameplay concept be revived.

  3. Just watched some youtube videos of GoD Factory at PAX…
And i dont even know what to say… Even though there are so much games on the market, PS4, Xbox One coming soon… this game feels and looks so right, so unique… keep the great job! and im gonna support you guys and share it here on Brazil! Take Care!!
